VINEYARD SUNDAY MORNING
The VSM meets every Sunday
morning at 10:00AM at the Lutheran School of Theology
in Chicago, located on 1100 E. 55th Street, Chicago,
IL 60615 (corner of 55th and University). VSM
is a time for our whole church community to gather for
worship, fellowship, Bible teaching, and prayer ministry.
At times, we hope that special music, drama, testimonies,
video, art, and other media will enhance our worshiping
and learning experiences. It is an opportunity
to mingle and linger with people you are just getting
to know and people you want to get to know more.

When
is the best time to arrive?
We
suggest arriving 10-15 minutes early that gives you
plenty of time to park if you need to as well as get
yourself some coffee or food before you head into the
chapel. We have coffee, donuts and bagels available
every week before and after service.
Where do I
go?
We
meet at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago,
a seminary in Hyde Park. Outside of the seminary
there will be many friendly faces that will be happy
to direct you to our place of worship.
What
should I wear?
We dress pretty casual
on Sunday, so wear whatever you feel comfortable worshiping
in, as long as it is modest and appropriate.
What
should I bring?
If you have a Bible, feel
free to bring it. We do also have Bibles you can
use during the service if you would like to.
What
happens during the worship service?
Every Sunday
our service has four important components.
WORSHIP We place a high value
on worship. We believe that when we come to worship,
we are not just singing songs, rather these songs are
an expression of our lives lived for God. When we call
out to God, He answers. We want to create a safe place
where a multi-ethnic people can experience the presence
of God. Our worship style is diverse and modern.
OFFERING Part of our worship
is giving back to the Lord out of the abundance that
He has given to us. We believe that offering is
an act of worship. We ask that member give abundantly
and sacrificially, if you are visiting us please do
not feel obligated to give.
TEACHING
This
is the time in our service where we hear a teaching
from the Bible that is relevant and practical for our
everyday lives.
COMMUNION
We
take the Holy Communion on a weekly basis. This
is the time when we take the bread and the juice in
remembrance of Jesus. Communion is open to all
who love and follow Jesus. We take communion together
as a community.
What
do you have available for children?
